continues Buttar’s outstanding series on the titanic struggle on the Eastern
Front in WW2. A consummate master at the art of bridging historical analysis
with riveting prose, the author addresses not only the events leading up to the
defeat of the Axis in the South, but also the misconceptions surrounding the
capabilities of Germany’s Allies and their Soviet adversaries. Conventional
wisdom has not given these groups enough credit regarding their effectiveness
and development; Buttar’s work goes a long way in addressing this. A
comprehensive bibliography and notes section rounds out this book. Very highly
recommended.
